Google Launches New B2C Platform

Let’s face it, the only reason you’re using Google+ is for SEO purposes—I know that, you know that, Google even knows that. That’s why they want to change–Google wants to officially be a part of your business.

The Silicon Valley tech giant recently launched Google My Business, a one-stop-shop for business owners to manage their online presence on a variety of Google-related properties such as: Search, Plus, Maps, and Google+.

Business owners who had been already using Places for Business or Google+ will be (unknowingly) transitioned this this new platform. To top it off—there is even a planned Android app that will allow business owners to instantly replay to customers or online reviewers.

Google glorifies the program as a way for businesses to cater to their customer’s needs. “The Internet is connecting more businesses with their people every day. However, our users tell us that finding these loyal customers can be complex and time-consuming. We believe it shouldn’t be,” Google posted in a blog entry. In hindsight, Google just want you to “work it” when it comes to SEO properties. Nothing new, but the “business program” will now have its own separate directory specifically just to get higher search rankings on Google.

Well Played.
